The usual suspects
By now many of you have probably seen James (@BitterBliss) and Will around Sydney. It could have been at a cafe or barista competition, geeking out about the latest bit of coffee news or doing their bit to help out. Will, who is one of the most excitable coffee geeks in Sydney, is constantly coming up with new experiments or information regarding grind size, consistency, refractometers or roasting. His focus on the technical and technique is sometimes intoxicating. James is much more about the drinking and comparison of coffees from as many cafes as he can. One of his projects was travelling to every train station in Sydney to find the best cafe in the area, for shit and giggles…. O_o
So where to now?
But as projects finish, new goals are created. While the goal was to always highlight the best parts of the Sydney coffee community, it is past time that BitterBliss was reframed into a coffee blog that focused less on one coffee tragics journey, and more on what the industry itself is trying to do. And so… CoffeeHunt was born.
Essentially the plan is to base this site and experience around a regular audio/video podcast that seeks out the best the Specialty Coffee community has to offer. Will and James won’t just be drinking coffee (though don’t be too surprised if a coffee or four is drunk now and then), instead they’ll be sitting down with local and regional experts in their fields and seeing what we can learn along the way.
Support our coffee habit
If we are going to go to the effort of doing that, then adding links to coffee stories, and helping people find awesome cafes along the way seems like a bonus. And hopefully with all this value that we are offering, we will be able to find some people to help support this journey on Patreon (but more on that later).
While it might take us a while to find our feet, we hope that you take the time to join us on our CoffeeHunt.
